My team is fans of the Aspen, which is tender oven-roasted, low-salt, turkey breast, cucumbers, red onions, lettuce, mayo, horseradish & guacamole on Cranberry Spice bread. It also happens to be their number one, best seller.
The Tuscany is another team favorite and consists of an eight-inch baguette, topped with Prosciutto, Capacolla, honey-glazed ham, provolone, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, red onions, roasted bell peppers, fresh basil, fresh cilantro, lettuce, and Italian dressing. It's big enough to share.
I personally can vouch for their brownies and muffins!

Rosetta Getty Show Benefits the Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage

Having attended several of the shows this week, all of which were wonderful, I'm looking forward to this one as well.
Rosetta Getty, by any measure, has had an enormously full life. The successful designer runs her namesake fashion label, is involved in multiple philanthropic activities, actively engages in the art world, and relishes her role as a mother to four children. She doesn’t shy away from the cliché of having it all.
“Sometimes having it all feels like just having a lot of work,” Getty says. “I try not to complain. Thank goodness I was able to have a big family, and I get to do what I love to do, and I’m married to a great guy, and I have a great community.”
Getty’s very full life begins at 6 a.m. with getting the kids off to school. Before she plunges into the world of running a fashion brand, she tries to take a moment to meditate and get centered. After the work at her day job is done, Getty focuses her energy on her nonprofit efforts, entertaining, and making time to see art and interact with artists.
No single part of her life exists in isolation. Her lifestyle and her passions guide her designs in both aesthetic and practical ways.

As a devotee of the Food Network and a former Spago employee for Wolfgang Puck, not to mention, just enjoying eating, I'm really looking forward to seeing Aarti.
Cooking isn’t just about making food, says Aarti Sequeira. It’s your invitation to the table.
The Los Angeles–based Sequeira is a warm, welcoming presence, and she embraces the camaraderie a plate of food provides. Cooking is an opportunity to connect, a time to break nan and nurture the people you love.
Sequeira’s path to the kitchen was a winding one.
Her career began at CNN when she was fresh out of journalism school. But the more she strove to be like her hero, Christiane Amanpour, the more Sequeira sought refuge over the stove. After she launched her own cooking show on YouTube, the home cook’s passion for food grew and her star rocketed.
In 2010, Sequeira officially traded her reporter’s notebook for a set of knives. She was the winner of the sixth season of Food Network’s reality show The Next Food Network Star and began hosting her own show, Aarti Party, focusing on easy ways to enhance traditionally American dishes with Indian flavors.
For her, the career change from journalist to cook has just meant a different way to help people make connections.
“[Making food] is more intimate than talking to someone, even one on one, because it’s a visceral connection — one made without words,” she says.
Sequeira has moved on to appear on a number of other cooking shows, including Chopped All-Stars and Cutthroat Kitchen, as well as Taste in Translation, which she hosted. She’s also the author of the cookbook Aarti Party: An American Kitchen with an Indian Soul.
Palm Springs Life spoke with Sequeira prior to her visit to Palm Desert Food & Wine.
PSL: Let’s say a home cook wants to try some Indian dishes but is unfamiliar with the cuisine. What advice do you have for someone cooking Indian recipes for the first time?
Aarti Sequeira: It’s the same as [with] any other recipe — read it all the way through before you start cooking and don’t enterprise. It’s usually a new style of cooking for people, so you need to trust your teacher.
PSL: What is your favorite recipe from your own cookbook?
AS: Kheema, the ground beef dish, is on my family’s table every two weeks. It’s quick, simple, and a huge hit with my girls!
PSL: Are there any specific ingredients that inspire you?
AS: Seasonal produce. I just can’t get enough.
PSL: If you’re having a few guests over, what’s a go-to dish you always prepare?
AS: Baba ghanoush. I don’t have great timing so I like having something for people to nosh on when they get to my house.
PSL: Was there one specific incident or moment when you realized you wanted to be a chef?
AS: I don’t consider myself a chef — I’ve never run a kitchen — but I remember the first moment someone hired me to cook on television. I couldn’t believe that I was (a) being asked to do it and (b) getting paid for it. It was surreal and such a gift.

Chef Redelsperger & Chef Gaertner Featured in Palm Springs Life Magazine
The original title of this article was Chef Engin Dreams of Day Off, by Maggie Downs, but since Chef Redelsperger and Chef Gaertner are chefs that have personally cooked for me in their homes, I took some liberty to give them a shout out in the title. They are talented, funny and just a joy to be around. I've enjoyed all of the featured chef's cuisine and they are all wonderful.
What do our favorite chefs like to do when they get together? It involves sharp knives, fire, wine, beer, and Moscow Mules. What could possibly go wrong?

THE PARTY
At a sleek house in the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood of Palm Springs, the chefs are introduced through other senses instead. It’s all about scent and sound. Walk up the driveway, and you already know who’s inside.
There’s the discordant clang of pans pulled from shelves. The shimmy and whistle of a simmering pot. Knives making contact with cutting boards. A cork’s deep sigh as it’s released from the wine bottle.
The air is laced with intoxicating smells. It’s an enchanting mix of rendering fat and caramelized onions. Yeast, roasted vegetables, the snap of vinegar. Burnt sugar and citrus. It’s eau de parfum.
This house is where chef Engin Onural and five of his pals are spending the day — eating, drinking, and enjoying some well-deserved merriment on a chefs’ day off.
He might look like a mere mortal while chatting with his friends, but in the culinary world, Onural is a renowned sushi prodigy. He earned the Sushi Proficiency Certificate from the All Japan Sushi Association in 2013 — before he even turned 30 — making Onural the only Turkish person in the world to carry it. He’s been named in the peer-reviewed Best Chefs America list for his sushi craftsmanship, and he consistently takes home prizes for best sushi in the Coachella Valley.
Onural is also known as the mastermind behind The Venue Sushi Bar & Sake Lounge in Palm Desert, a chic restaurant where the menu ranges from ultra-traditional to wildly experimental. And because the food is of such high quality, The Venue has also become something of an industry hangout.
Chefs from all over the valley flock to savor Onural’s culinary creations. Over time and over many servings of excellent eats, several of them have become his friends.
