National real estate sites such as Truila®, Zillow® and others offer people a variety of online content. Few of the national real estate sites, however, actually receive live feeds from the MLS®. Their lack of a live feed results in much of their information being stale or incorrect.
Several national sites continue to show expired listings, incorrect pricing and sold homes as being available. I receive calls almost daily on these dated listings, and I know quickly where people have likely seen the information.
Real Estate Is Local
Most communities have a local real estate board or association that provides an MLS data feed to qualified member agents. Here in the desert we are members of The Desert Area MLS® which covers the entire Coachella Valley.
So here’s my tip: Go local for the most up-to-date listing information by utilizing local Realtor sites that include live MLS feeds. In my case, all of my MLS information is live, it’s complimentary, and no sign-up is required.
Now–about those online home valuation estimates. That’s another subject for next time.
